BC Powder Highway Ski Safari

Lift access to amazing backcountry ski touring, world famous powder and epic descents on BC’s Powder Highway!

BC Powder Highway Ski Safari

The famous Powder Highway winds its way through the snow belts of the Monashee, Purcell and Selkirk mountains of western Canada. You’ve probably seen images of this area all over videos and magazines and dreamt of one day seeing and skiing some of these amazing areas yourself. Well, dream no longer, because it’s right here waiting for you! Designed for intermediate to advanced backcountry ski tourers and split borders, we will spend 10 days experiencing some of the best skiing Canada has to offer.

The Plan:

Powder HighwayYour ACMG certified ski guide will pick you up at the airport in Calgary, AB before heading out on the powder highway towards the Canadian Rockies and a hidden gem of a ski town called Fernie, BC. After a great sleep at the hotel it’s time to get the party started with a trip to Fernie Alpine Resort.

A few laps on the mountain will warm up the legs then it’s time to head into the backcountry! After catching a ride to the top of the mountain your ski guide will lead you past the ropes and out to some amazing backcountry pow stashes. Stashes that are typically the domain of a few knowledgeable locals!

After an amazing day of skiing the Lizard Range outside Fernie it’s time to move further along the powder highway and onto the next ski resort. Then the next and the next, visiting amazing ski hills all across BC as you ski your way to Whistler.

If your guide takes the northern route you’ll ski Kimberley, Golden, Revelstoke, Rogers Pass, Sun Peaks and more as you work your way across the province. There’s even a few hot springs to check out on the way!

If your guide opts for the southern route then you’re going to be heading through the heart of the Kootenays on your way to Whistler. Skiing amazing locations and resorts like Kootenay Pass, Whitewater, Red Mountain, Big White and Manning Park on your way.

By the time the trip is over you’ll have visited the best ski destinations in Canada, experienced the amazing and diverse geography from the Canadian prairies where you started, cross 3 different mountain ranges and ended at the ocean! Even better, a photographer came along and captured it all!

Want to add a day of heli skiing or cat skiing? No problem! While it will cost a little extra, it’ll be an amazing experience!

Food & Accommodation:

We will be staying in a variety of hotels and lodges as we drive across British Columbia on the powder highway. Sometimes at the base of a ski resort for ski-in and ski-out access, other times we’ll be right in-town with easy access to restaurants and pubs.

Evenings will be spent enjoying meals from local restaurants and sampling locally brewed beers and wines from the many microbreweries and vineyards that we pass along the way.

Waiver & Risk Management:

As you know, outdoor activities involve numerous hazards including, but not limited to, avalanches, crevasses, rockfall, slips and falls, equipment failure, poor weather, etc. And while we do our best to anticipate and mitigate these hazards we cannot completely eliminate them. So, as with anything fun, you will be required to sign our Participant Release to take part in one of our courses or trips.

Custom Dates Available
