Star Chek Rock Climb
Join one of our professional, ACMG certified guides for a guided climb of the picturesque Star Chek. Listed as one of the Top 100 climbs in the valley, Star Chek is an amazing climb that ascends a well featured granite wall above the raging Cheakamus river. The roar of the water drowns out all sound in the narrow canyon giving the rock climb a unique “out-there” feel and offers stunning photo opportunities with the river and narrow canyon as the backdrop.
This 4-pitch rock climb and is located just 20 minutes north of the Squamish just off the highway to Whistler. The approach is a short walk along the Cheakamus canyon and, after the climb is complete, a short scramble brings you up to the highway for a short walk back to the car. And while Star Chek features amazing positions and stances, it's most famous for the views of the roaring river that runs right below the climb. And while the grade might seem a little difficult, the majority of the climbing is much easier making it well suited for people wanting an easier route and possibly an introduction to multi-pitch climbing.
