Lake Lovely Water Camping
Self Guided Lake Lovely Water Camping Trip - Spend 3 or more days exploring the amazing lake Lovely Water and the southern reaches of the stunningly beautiful Tantalus Provincial Park
The Self Guided Lake Lovely Water Camping trip offers easy access to the camping at the lake using using a small helicopter. This addresses the issues with getting across the Squamish River and allows you to bring a few extra's up that you wouldn't be able to bring if packing everything up the mountain to the campsites. Once at the lake you can explore the many amazing hikes and peaks in the area, go for a swim (if you're brave) and enjoy the absolutely stunning views off the Crescent Glacier perched over the turquoise waters of Lake Lovely Water.
About the Area:
Lake Lovely Water is situated within Tantalus Provincial Park which is just outside of of town of Squamish, BC and 60Km north of Vancouver. Tantalus Provincial Park can be very difficult to access because the Squamish River bars the way to the trailhead and there are no bridges in the area. This makes just getting to Lake Lovely Water part of the adventure as you need a helicopter ride or a boat to get across the river followed by a strenuous hike.
There are 15 tent pads near the outflow of the lake and another few sandy pads on the beach below Mt. Omega. The campsites also have pit toilets, food storage bins and a small dining area but no other services are available. There's also a small hut that can be rented for 3 or 4 nights at a time if you have a bigger group, just let us know if you're wanting to book the hut. One of the nice aspects of the hut is that it comes with a few canoes for exploring Lake Lovely Water.
Cell phone service around the lake is quite limited but available if you don't mind a short walk down to the helicopter pad. Unfortunately no inflatable watercraft or boards are permitted in the Lake and so won't be allowed in the helicopter. However, there are some other lakes in the area where they are allowed and which also avoid the crowds. We can always arrange to drop you off at one of those other lakes if you like.
